Tactile map
This was part of a bigger group project focused on design solutions for the visually impaired students at Malmö University.
Around 30 000 people in Sweden are considered totally blind or severely visually impaired, but only 1 300 people know how to read braille. We therefore created a tactile map, where visually impaired people can trace the outlines of the school building Orkanen at Malmö University, and get a sence of orientating one self.
If one is able to read braille, we also labelled where toilets, elevators, stairs and information can be found, as well as the building departments.
Participating designers: Jennie Bengtsson, Daniel Petersson, Matilda Melin, Yasmeen Khaseem, Isak Niklasson
